Suits and Salads Luncheon with Candi Fisher

Dress for Success solves the catch-22 that confronts disadvantaged women trying to enter the workforce: without a job, how can you afford a suit?  But without a suit, how can you get a job? Shortly after Dress for Success was founded, they became well-known for providing suits to disadvantaged women returning to or entering the workforce. Although their mission has expanded, the suiting program remains a crucial part of their work and a vital first-step in a woman’s journey toward self-sufficiency. I had the honor of being a committee member and photographing the Suits and Salads luncheon Wednesday at Goodwood Museum. It is rewarding to me to work with such an amazing organization for women. It was also nice to be able to hear my friend, Candi Fisher, speak as the guest speaker at the event. For more information visit www.dressforsuccess.org.

The Power of a Thank You!

Hand written thank you’s have become a rare commodity these days. With them being so uncommon, their value has increased tremendously. The thank-you note demonstrates your understanding of, and commitment to, common etiquette. Thank you notes are also an easy way to build a strong relationship with someone, which is something we think is important. At Kay Meyer, we make it a common day job to write each of our clients hand written thank you notes for their business with us. Taking just a few minutes out of your day just to write the simplest of thank you messages can truly change someone’s day!

Welcome To The Month of Many Thanksgivings!

Here at Kay Meyer Photography, we are very grateful for and humbled by the sweet thank you cards we receive from clients. In the month where we express our thanks the most, we wanted to show some of the sweet cards we receive from you all. We appreciate them more than you know! We display them throughout the studio to remind us of how wonderful you all are! We are so thankful to have YOU- what are you thankful for this holiday season?

Meet The Millers

The history I share with this couple made this day so special to me. The friendship I share with Bryan goes back to when we were only fourteen years old.. I mean that was only a few years ago ;). Bryan shared mine and my husbands special day with us as a groomsman in our wedding. When Bryan introduced me to Jessica I knew they were perfect for each other. The day was perfect, as they shares a sweet and intimate private ceremony with just their closest friends. Jessica’s son Gabriel was part of the ceremony and was so cute! I am so grateful those chose me to shoot their special day, but even more thankful for their friendship.

A Family Affair: Kasey

Kasey and Brett were married at Kasey’s parents home on Lake Jackson. It was a beautiful ceremony featuring a blessing by both Brett and Kasey’s dads, it was touching and sentimental. Their parents and his brother attended this sacred ceremony. They were present and in the moment, every moment without distraction. No one was taking a picture with their phone and racing to see if they could be first to post. It was lovely.

The groom’s dad, Bill Law, read the following bible verse during the ceremony:

For everything there is a season,
a time for every activity under heaven.
A time to be born and a time to die.
A time to plant and a time to harvest.
A time to kill and a time to heal.
A time to tear down and a time to build up.
A time to cry and a time to laugh.
A time to grieve and a time to dance.
A time to scatter stones and a time to gather stones.
A time to embrace and a time to turn away.
A time to search and a time to quit searching.
A time to keep and a time to throw away.
A time to tear and a time to mend.
A time to be quiet and a time to speak.
A time to love and a time to hate.
A time for war and a time for peace.
