I was super excited to shoot this wedding, maybe alittle more excited than usual. Why you ask? Well, it was our first family wedding in 10 years and I could not wait. Not only did I have the honor of photographing our cousin Darden and Doug’s wedding, but I also had a chance to catch up with family we rarely see. It was a gorgeous, fun filled and emotional day for everyone. I LOVED IT! The team of John Gandy Events and Missy Gunnels Flowers outdid themselves. The Carriage House at Goodwood was perfection! Check it out!

It’s that time again!! FUN& SEXY Boudoir sessions are back!
January’s Velvet Valentine shoot was a huge success! The shoot took place at the luxurious Hotel Duval in the exclusive Diamond Suite. Before each shoot, the girls were treated to professional hair and makeup, champagne and a light lunch in the hotel’s elegant library. After they were pampered each woman had their private, intimate shoot in the suite. The ladies had a great time and their leather bound “little black book” made the perfect Valentines Day gift.
November sessions are booking now, so call 850-894-4529 or email kay@kaymeyerphotography.com for more information.
I photograph boudoir shoots twice a year, in both November and January, so if you miss out on the fun, no worries…you can still experience the excitement of a Boudoir shoot! I can schedule a private Boudoir shoot for you or one for you and your best girl friends anytime during the year.
After their Goodwood engagement session, I could not wait to shoot Dawn & Casey’s wedding at the beautiful Bradfordville Baptist Church. The couple was radiant with excitement as the hour approached. Dawn was preceded down the aisle by her bridesmaids decked out in block color dresses. The reception was held at Golden Eagle Country Club. Dawn and Casey had a great photo booth set up with funny accessories to dress up in. They also included a custom candy bar for guests to pick and choose their favorite goodies. And of course, GT Entertainment kept the party going with lots of dancing.

2011’s wedding season has been just wonderful! Kay Meyer Weddings have been featured on many national blogs including: Pretty Little Weddings: Kay Meyer on Pretty Little Weddings Sarah & Ryan Southern Aisle: A Paper Proposal Becoming the Mrs. I was interviewed in the 2011 July/August Tallahassee Magazine issue about destination weddings. I was honored to have been included. The article featured Dr. Darrh & Jen Bryant’s Henderson Park Inn wedding. Here is a link to their digital copy… July/August 2011 Tallahassee Magazine |

A big THANK YOU to…

Pretty Little Weddings blog is featuring the Clemmons-Dugan Carillon Beach Wedding today! Check out the blog post {here}. Your feedback and comments about the post are always encouraged and welcomed! PLW is full of fun and inspiring ideas, so take a look around the rest of their site while you’re there! I’m so excited to have such a great site feature this wedding! 🙂
One word comes to mind when I think about Laurel and Adam’s wedding: family. Their tight bond with their parents and siblings was felt by everyone at their wedding. Both parents were genuinely excited and happy for their children. There were more than a few touching moments and even I shed a tear.
Their intimate ceremony was held in the Meeting House, and the reception was on the Village Green. Their were so many incredible details, from the gorgeous flower arrangements and sweet notes from loved ones to snow cones! Townsend’s Catering went above and beyond with one of the best and widest variety of food I have seen. David Townsend said that it was Laurel that brought some wonderful fresh ideas to the table {literally.} Gazpacho soup shooters and gourmet Pastrami sandwiches were some of my favorites. Rhonda spent hours designing their lovely cake. I just loved the white on white details! The grooms cake was amazing, it featured Adam’s favorite beer and a sandwich and fries. Isn’t that unique. It looked like you could pick it right up and eat it.
As you can see, this wedding was such a pleasure to photograph; Laurel, Adam and their families were so warm and made me feel like a part of their wonderful family while working with them! I hope you enjoy the images below, I certainly loved shooting each and every one.

Rachel and Josiah came all the way from Illinois to have their dream beach wedding here in Florida! Rachel’s exuberance was contagious! The ceremony took place on Carillon beach under a beautiful custom made bamboo arch. Josiah mouthed “WOW” and “You look SO beautiful” to his bride throughout her entire walk down the aisle! Their reception, held at the Meeting House, was a blast! Highlights include the Shoe Game, which is a hilarious couples trivia contest where the newlyweds got to test their knowledge of one anther. Later, guests “got low” on the dance floor in a limbo contest! Take a look this couple’s dream-come-true wedding!

Newlyweds, Jessica and Kevin Hester, exchanged their vows at the historic SouthWood House in Tallahassee. Jessica and her bridesmaids got their hair done at the Green Peridot and finished getting ready upstairs at the SouthWood House, while Kevin and his groomsmen got ready in the Magnolia Cottage at the SouthWood house. The ceremony took place outside, under majestic oaks. Later, everyone enjoyed signature cocktails and personalized coozies at the reception in front of the house. Common Zenz, the band that performed at the reception, was great! They played all of my favorites (Tom Petty, Rolling Stones, etc.)! At the end of the night, guests saw out the new Mr. and Mrs. Hester by throwing rose petals. Take a look at this gorgeous Tallahassee wedding!
