Kay Meyer Photography
It’s always a busy time of the year getting ready for the holiday season, and one of my favorites! I have had the pleasure to work with so many amazing families around the Tallahassee area. It is fun photographing everyone from newborn babies to grandparents with all of their grandchildren, what a blessing. I love seeing my loyal Kay Meyer Portrait clients each holiday season. It is wonderful that they keep coming back and bringing their friends with them. Thank you!
These sessions Fabulous Fall Families sessions are a blast, the kids never failed to keep me laughing! Hopefully, you will see that in these images. The beautiful, warm Tallahassee weather has been working in our favor and made for some absolutely great photographs. Keep checking back for this 3 part series which will be updated throughout the week!
A gorgeous fall day was in store for us for Leslie and Katavia’s wedding day. If I could order up the perfect weather for an outdoor wedding and reception, this would have been it! Katavia and Leslie worked very hard on their details and everything looked perfect in an array of browns and orange. It was stunning! Guests dined in the backyard of the Southwood House underneath beautiful lights and candles. I loved how the cake was presented under a drape of tulle. They thought of everything to accommodate their guests, from flip flops for their feet to long beds and overstuffed chairs. It was a great night to celebrate Leslie, Katavia and their friends and family!

Beautiful vintage farm wedding!
Leslie and Chad were married at the private farm of the Bass Family, Schlitz Farm. The property was perfect for the wedding. I loved touring the land and finding fun places for images as there had never been a wedding there before. I hope you enjoy this sneak peek. This entire gorgeous wedding will be blogged soon.
Have a very Happy Thanksgiving!

Wanda & Tim were married on a gorgeous clear day at Honey Lake Plantation in Greenville, Florida. The bridal party, family, and friends from all over the country enjoyed a relaxing weekend at Honey Lake. The bride and groom looked fabulous on their wedding day. The bride wore a stunning silk dress to which she added an elegant shoulder strap, making it a lovely addition.
The ceremony took place in Honey Lake’s beautiful historic chapel, which is known for its 2 inch thick brass bell, 56 foot steeple and 14 foot stained glass windows which are the oldest in Florida! The couple’s children were involved in every aspect of the wedding and stood with them during the ceremony. I really enjoyed photographing Wanda & Tim over the absolutely breathtaking plantation.
All of the table top decor, flowers and details were done by the bride. Her careful attention to detail and design showed in the Holcomb’s spectacular reception. I thought it was great how as a way to greet their guests at the reception, Wanda & Tim went around the gathering hall serving each guest a glass of wine; she poured the white and he poured the red. Everyone had a great time at the reception, dancing and laughing with friends until the late hours of the night. Wanda’s best friend Mary Barley even unrolled a scroll of “Wanda’s Wish List”, which was a list of her perfect man and of course, Tim was on there. Congratulations Wanda & Tim!

Jennifer and Chad were married in an intimate June ceremony surrounded by family and friends at the Seaside Chapel. I was inspired to design a black and white wedding book that will stand the test of time with it’s simple elegance.

Lauren & Robert were married in The Meeting House at Carillon Beach in full military regalia. Who doesn’t love men in uniform? Robert in his dress blues had not only a great bunch of groomsmen, but also traditional Army Sabre Bearers. I loved that after the ceremony, the newlyweds exited the Meeting House under the sabres. As the couple recessed through the arch of swords, that the last two men to make up the arch lower their swords in front of the couple, detaining them momentarily as they kissed, while the sword bearer on the right, with his sword, gives the bride a gentle “swat” on the rump and utters, “Welcome to the Army.”
Lauren’s mom who is affectionately called Mrs. Murph by the couples friends, was able to fully enjoy each and every moment of her eldest daughters wedding, thanks to the wonderful planning by Victoria and Avis. Robert’s mom, had the blue glasses engraved with a “M” and were the perfect keepsake for their guests.
Lauren, Robert and I were able to sneak away for a few minutes before sunset. They truly enjoyed each other and were so much fun to photograph!
A delicious seated dinner in the Meeting House by Townsend Catering (the very best!) was enjoyed by all in the romantic atmosphere. Their guests danced and really had a blast during the reception! The {PG} PhotoBooth was enjoyed by the guests, as you can see below. It is a great addition to any wedding reception. They were all dancing and singing, especially the army guys in their dress blues.
Mr & Mrs Kirkwood left their reception under a hail of gigantic sparklers. Congratulations Lauren & Robert!
